Το παλάτι του Kensington τιμά το εμβληματικό στιλ της πριγκίπισσας Diana με το φόρεμα που έμεινε στην ιστορία

Το Kensington Palace φέρνει υπέροχα νέα στους επισκέπτες του, μετά από ανακοίνωσή του, ότι θα είναι πάλι ανοιχτό για το κοινό, από τις 30 Ιουλίου μετά το κλείσιμο τεσσάρων μηνών λόγω της πανδημίας του κορωνοϊού!

Για να σηματοδοτήσει την πολύ ξεχωριστή περίσταση, θα παρουσίασει για πρώτη φορά το εμβληματικό φόρεμα που φόρεσε η αλησμόνητη πριγκίπισσα Diana στον χορό της με τον διάσημο ηθοοποιό John Travolta. 

Toν Ιούνιο του 1997, η ίδια η Diana είχε δημοπρατήσει το συγκεκριμένο φόρεμα, συγκεντρώνοντας το ποσό των 500.000 ευρώ, τα οποία έδωσε σε οργάνωσεις κατά του HIV. Στην συνέχεια το Historic Royal Palace, αγόρασε το φημισμένο φόρεμα σε μία δημοπρασία στην τιμή των 290.000 ευρώ το 2019.

Το βελούδινο φόρεμα έχει μπει στην ιστορία ως μια από τις πιο αξέχαστες εμφανίσεις της πριγκίπισσας της Ουαλίας. Σχεδιάστηκε από τον Victor Edelstein και έμεινε στην ιστορία, φορώντας το η Diana στην επίσκεψή της στον Λευκό Οίκο με τον Πρίγκιπα Κάρολο για να συναντήσουν τον τότε Πρόεδρο των ΗΠΑ Ronald Reagan και την Πρώτη Κυρία Mrs Nancy Reagan. Η Diana κατέληξε να χορεύει με την ψυχή της με τον John Travnolta στον ρυθμό των τραγουδιών από την ταινία «Πυρετός στο Σαββατόβραδο» και το «Greese».

Οι εικόνες έγιναν πρωτοσέλιδα σε όλο τον κόσμο και τώρα οι βασιλικοί θαυμαστές έχουν την ευκαιρία να το θαυμάσουν από κοντά για πρώτη φορά.

Το φόρεμα της Diana βρισκόταν σε «απομόνωση», από πέρυσι από την στιγμή που αποκτήθηκε από τον πληστειριασμό!

The “Travolta dress” (also known as the “John Travolta dress”) is a dress owned by Princess Diana. It was worn for the first time at a gala dinner at the White House in November 1985. It is named after the American actor John Travolta, with whom the Princess danced at the dinner. She also danced with other Celebrities. Design: Designed by London-based Victor Edelstein, the Travolta dress is an off-the-shoulder midnight blue velvet evening gown. It was inspired by Edwardian fashion, giving it a “slight sweep of costume drama”. The journalist Jackie Modlinger described it as “dramatic in style” and “regal in fabric”. History: Diana, Princess of Wales, visited the United States in early November 1985 with her husband Prince Charles.The couple stayed at the White House, where they attended a gala dinner on 11 November. On that occasion, the Princess of Wales wore Edelstein’s dress. She was photographed dancing with the actor John Travolta to the music of his 1977 film Saturday Night Fever in the Entrance Hall. The photographs and TV footage of them “gliding around the room” were widely circulated around the world,and the gown came to be known as the “Travolta dress”. The Princess of Wales wore the dress again in Germany in December 1987 and at the premiere of the film Wall Street in April 1988.She wore it for her last official portrait photograph, taken by her husband’s uncle, the Earl of Snowdon, in 1997. Interview with John Travolta – Good Morning America correspondent asked John Travolta if there was any part of his life that he’d like to bring back, the actor didn’t say musical reimaginations of the 1950s. He didn’t say New Coke or feathered bangs.
